From St. Barth airport to Gustavia, what to expect

Gustavia is the main harbor town of St. Barth, home to the cruise port, luxury boutiques, fine dining, and the island's nightlife. The drive from the airport is a quick downhill stretch with ocean views.

From the moment we step out of the SBH terminal, Gustavia is roughly 5 minutes away. The standard daytime fare hovers around 30 euros. After 6:30pm, on Sundays and on public holidays, plan an extra 5 euros. Between midnight and 6am the surcharge climbs to 10 euros, but very few drivers operate that late so we always pre-book in that case.

A small but useful detail: if you see taxis lined up at the airport when you land, do not assume they are free. Most are already waiting for someone with a pre-booked transfer. Always ask the driver before getting in.
