From St. Barth airport to St-Jean, what to expect

St-Jean is the closest beach village to the airport, just a few minutes away. The bay is famous for low-flying planes overhead and a long stretch of golden sand lined with beach restaurants and shops.

From the moment we step out of the SBH terminal, St-Jean is roughly 3 minutes away. The standard daytime fare hovers around 30 euros. After 6:30pm, on Sundays and on public holidays, plan an extra 5 euros. Between midnight and 6am the surcharge climbs to 10 euros, but very few drivers operate that late so we always pre-book in that case.

One thing worth knowing: if you are staying at a hotel, the front desk usually keeps its own WhatsApp group with trusted drivers. Ask them before calling around. They can often get someone to your villa faster than the official stand, especially after dark.
